"Never fall behind on your payments with these people. They're merciless. I missed a month due to a lack of funds. My plan was to catch up, and it would take me a little while to do it. So I intended to pay the minimum amount to keep my coverage. I paid the exact amount State Farm's billing system stated was required to prevent cancellation of my policy, which was the charge from that last month I had missed. Makes sense, right? Despite doing so, my policy was still cancelled. I contacted the agency, and they are now demanding I pay the balance in full (both months, not just the missed month) in order to reinstate coverage, as well as numerous fees. I provided them with the screenshot from their own portal, showing them that I paid the exact amount necessary in order to prevent cancellation of my policy. They didn't even put my money towards the balance, they refunded it, and now it's going to take until next week to get my money back despite that money being necessary to keep my truck insured. I have been going back and forth with them all day. I cannot afford to pay this in full, even after I get my money back. I have to use this truck to move my wife out of our house this weekend. Now I can't even legally drive it. They have demonstrated an absurd lack of communication, initiative, and responsibility. As a result, I now have to cough up substantially more than the amount State Farm had represented was necessary to prevent cancellation in the first place. Not sure how I'm going to drive home today. If I drive my truck and get pulled over, I'll have to pay for a tow and an impound fee as well. Guess I'm walking? Edit: Thanks for the response Julie. I do not intend to continue wasting another workday going back and forth, just to be told that you aren't going to do anything. If you want to rectify this, call whoever you need to, be it State Farm corporate or whoever, and then let me know when you have a solution. If you can't do that, then just say you aren't going to do anything about it."

"State Farm and this office dropped our auto policy because my wife had her 1st accident in 30 years, and no tickets. They even attempted to give us a lowball offer for our totaled SUV, BEFORE THEY EVEN LOOKED AT IT! We rejected it, and they had to pay us what it was actually worth. I recently read an article that described this as being a very common practice from State Farm. We were told our autos were cancelled for 2 years. * THEN 6 months later they denied a homeowners claim TWICE, for hail damage to our roof, even though they had a lot of pics from their 3rd party inspection company showing proof of our damage. This was our FIRST EVER homeowners claim (we're in our early 60's). We were given, not offered, an amount that didn't even cover our $3,700 deductible, for SOME of our gutters, when our roof replacement should have been approved as well. MANY of our neighbors were covered by their insurance companies for the same damage from the same storm, and got their roofs and gutters replaced. This includes one of our NEXT DOOR neighbors, AND the one DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET! A request for a 2nd inspection / claim review, was DENIED, because they literally denied we even had any hail damage to our roof! * THEN this office called wanting us to insure our autos with them again after only 8 months of them dropping us, and wanting a crazy premium that was more than double what we were paying before, and MUCH MORE than we're paying with our new company. They also informed us that our homeowners would be going up $900 (40%) if we didn't insure our autos with them again. I said "we won't pay MORE than what we are now, to go back to State Farm". * THEN 10 months after they dropped us, and 2 months after the last extortion call, they called us to inform us AGAIN that our homeowners would NOW BE GOING UP $1100 (50%) if we didn't insure our autos with them again! After the way you've treated us!? AND you want us to leave our new company, and pay more, too? WOW. This upset us AGAIN, and prompted this review. They dropped our autos and forced us to change auto companies, then wanted us to come back only 8 months into the 2 year cancellation wait period. Good luck if you have a claim! Even if they do pay, it won't be nearly sufficient or fair! AND you'll either be cancelled or your premium will double. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: Julie's response below is purely for show. I got in touch with her, as she requested, and made an appointment for a meeting regarding our hail claim denial, because she said she would "address our questions and concerns". But at the meeting she instead complained about my review, was unfriendly, argumentative, and completely backed up the claim denial, (even if it meant lying & denying). She disagreed with everything 2 reputable roofers said, and said she "didn't see any hail damage" in our MANY pics of obvious hail damage from BOTH roofers. She wouldn't even look at our list of questions and concerns, even though i asked her to do so several times. Not how an agent should treat a customer. She then informed me that she wasn't going to help us with an appeal, and wasn't going to renew our homeowner policy when it expired! HORRIBLE customer service again. We got BOTH of our policies cancelled for filing a very rare auto claim, and a first-time homeowner claim, and received ZERO HELP from this office. Our previous long-time American Family agent would have fought for us, but we had to leave them due to recurring excessive, and unjustified premium increases. When writing this edit, i noticed this office had a very large # of reviews. Not surprisingly, i found that were an EXTRAORDINARY number of 5 star reviews posted right after i posted my original review above in June 2025. More shady and sneaky behavior from a shady office and company. April 2026 - State Farm is now under investigation by the Missouri Senate for denying legitimate claims."
